May I presume that Mr. Rich is not voting for Bush this year?

I feel Mr. Rich needs focus his column a little. He complains about 43's secrecy. But he can’t seem to resist also complaining about Fox, Sinclair, Rush, et al. His problem and the problem of the left is they have lost their media monopoly. Never mind they have ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, NYT, WP, LAT et al, they have to complain about Fox and the more “right” media sources.

What is interesting is, CNN has more outlets than Fox, yet Fox has a consistently bigger audience. It must be the Bush administration forcing people to tune to Fox.

As for Bush’s secrecy, I don’t blame him. If I were in his shoes, I’d keep as mum as possible. No matter what you say, it will be construed against you. Better that they make stuff up, like the bogus CBS TANG memos than to give the media any ammunition.

If Bush said, “The sky is blue.” The media would respond, “The president declared today the sky to be blue. That is an open assault on those individuals that are colorblind and cannot tell the sky is blue. Worse, he insults those poor individuals that are totally blind and will never be able to tell for themselves whether or not the allegedly blue sky is really blue. This goes to show how much the Bush and his Republican co-conspirators have no empathy for the visually impaired of this country.

In a related matter today, John Edwards said that when John Kerry is elected President the visually impaired will have their eyes opened. Then they can judge for themselves, whether the President’s claim of a blue sky is in fact true, or if it is just another one of his lies.

Forget Woodward and Bernstein. Where's the new I. F. Stone and Richard Rovere?
