Everyone with a brain and some intelligence will understand that if a flight recorder can't survive such a crash, neither will do passports.
Americans are f****d by Americans.

Here we go again, as "Ronnie Baby" used to say in the presidential debates with Jimmy Carter. The FBI is maybe covering up the finding of three of the four flight recorders? What else is new? What happened to the control tower tapes from all the airports involved? Those tapes disappeared in the first hour or so after the disaster, never to be seen or heard from again.
What happened to the videos from cameras facing the Pentagon from various angles showing the crash of some object with the Pentagon? Those tapes have also disappeared to some unknown destination, never to be seen again.

Maybe we need to get LA Homicide Detective "Columbo" in on this case. He's great at ferreting out things that disappear in the night. Truth has died on 9/11/2001. We need a crack investigator like Columbo on this case.

Maybe we should nickname our country, "the Great Disappeared".

The miracle of all things is the survival in the firery disaster of the WTC buildings amid all the rubble of an intact passport of one of the "pilots" of one of the planes. Considering the last 3 3/4 yrs. of the Bush administration, nothing [true or not] surprises me. What does surprise me is that Americans have been brainwashed into thinking that they live in the greatest country in the world. That was true at one time... a time when we had patriots running our country. Government coverups in the US have existed though a lot of our history. The Kennedy assassination continues to be a mystery some forty odd years after the fact. Yes, there is good speculation on the assassination, but with the government witholding and destroying records, that morning in Dallas continues to be nothing but conjecture... a he said, she said... nothing concrete. A country that routinely hides important facts from its citizens cannot possibly be considered the greatest country in the world. As it once was, another powerful and secretive government, the Old Soviet Union, is now defunct. Will the US follow the same path? If US citizens insist on wearing blinders, as they have, the answer is yes. This is not a subversive statement. It is a collection of events that indicate that the US is sliding down the same spiral.

You guys keep forgetting that in order to have a conspiracy, and especially on this scale, a large amount of people are involved.

With this many people, why haven't more come forward? And especially for three years - that's a long time to have the deaths of 3000 Americans on your mind.

I think the possibility of a cover-up by our government is entirely credible. It does not surprise me one bit. 9/11 was the first reason to go to war--what could generate a stronger emotional response from the American people? This was followed by the false claims of nuclear weapons in Iraq--generating another strong emotional response from Americans--fear. The most unsettling possibility is that perhaps this administration might have known about 9/11 in advance.This scenario is almost too scary to contemplate.

The only thing that this tells us is...that an orange box with two white stripes was removed from ground zero. Heck, I've got seventeen boxes like that in my living room alone! Our government would never lie - they may be confused, but just like the assurances from Rummy that the WMDs were in Tikrete, north, south and east Iraq; but never lie.

The post from "Ender" is absolutely correct. If the black boxes were found, there no way that government officials and others who knew about this would keep it covered up. The information is so essential that no one in their right mind could possibly keep their mouth shut.

Most government employees are regular people and couldn't keep a secret like this for leaking out. Government employees are normally poorly paid and really have nothing to gain by participating in a cover-up, which could get them potentially exposed, sued or arrested. I'm sorry but that kind of loyalty is a bit hard to imagine for $80k a year.

I find it very amazing/amusing that with millions of pounds of debris from two different buildings, soon after the buildings fell and while they were still burning, the FBI was able to arrive one day and find apparently without digging or moving anything three very small boxes.

Even after only the most modest amount of thinking I was able to conclude this could only be a new urban legend.

Read the article carefully this time.

"He recalled FBI agents arriving for the search one day in early October, setting up their equipment near Brooks Brothers." That was
three and half weeks after the attack! The guy didn't say they just drove up and there they were. I'm sure the FBI, NTSB, used listening devices for the pings coming from the boxes. When the pings are heard, the digging begins to locate them. As I recall, there were hot pockets still burning at the site, but the entire site was not burning. In fact, cranes, bulldozers and steamshovels were working in a cooled large area. The boxes are not as small as you think. They are about 20 inches long by 12 inches wide and 6 inches deep... not exactly a needle in a haystack. Look them up on Google. And as far as millions of pounds of debris falling, a lot of the buildings were pulverized into near weightless dust as they fell. There was 5" of the dust covering the streets 10 blocks away. Maybe you and I are reading different articles, but I didn't see where the guy claimed the he and the FBI had to drive through flames to retrieve the boxes.

Two different people in this thread who are trying to poke holes in the idea that the FBI would indeed find and hide the boxes have answered each other's basis for doubting this.

The reason the gov't wouldn't admit they'd found the boxes and then go about an even bigger extravaganza of lies is.... for that very reason: it would involve far more people in the gov't going along with it which makes it far less possible to pull off.

All this operation took was a handful of FBI agents who are sworn to the utmost secrecy and devotion to keeping secrets and someone they figured would be too stressed and busy to notice.

There is a great deal more to the missing blackboxes , which are supposedly indestructible - there were a number of airlines which mysteriously crashed just after taking off New York, TWA and Egyptair. The blackbox of TWA was never found. The third airline which crashed after taking off New York was Swissair, it crashed just off the coast of Canada - its blackbox was not traced. The only blackbox of these three was that of EgypAir and the captain said a prayer which was misconstrued as a 'terrorist' statement.
Turning to the matter of terrorism - terrorists are never afraid of revealing their own identity and making claims of the act of terrorism they have committed. This is true of ETA, IRA and Hamas. So when the planes crashed on 9/11/2001 - the terrorists whosoever they may be would have themselves announced that they carried such an attack- for that you do not CIA or the FBI, because the perpetrators themselves would have been proud of their 'achievement' and would have very proud of it. But no terrorist organisation made any such claim. The only conclusions one can derive is that it was a crime. Only criminals hide and never reveal themselves - in order to find who they are requires thorough investigation. Once the results the investigatioh are completed is it possible to announce as to who was responsible.
This is the major difference between a terrorist and a criminal. But to announce within a few hours who was responsible is really impossible to believe. How is it possible to obtain result of a major crime within a few hours? This is just not possible.

A better explanation is that something in those boxes implicated a Saudi official and God knows the government has tried every step or the way to protect the Saudi royal family. The other possibility is communication with an insider at air traffic control, which would be a major embarrassment. The third possibility is that the boxes show that our military had an opportunity to shoot down the planes and didn't take it. It is also a strong possiblity that these guys lied to sell books.

Your theory the our government attacked us makes no sense because the bombing of the USS Cole and the Embassies in Africa and bin Ladens declaration of war on the US before Sept. 11th are all reasons enough to go after him. Plus any thought that the USA needed World approval to go after bin Laden is gone now that they went after Saddam without world approval. If the US planned the attack as excuse to go into Afghanistan then why wouldn't they have done a second attack to have and excuse and world approval to after Saddam? If they went to all that trouble to fake an attack on the country why not just fake the black boxes also? Don't forget they found the black boxes for the other two planes. Also, WTC 7 fell because it burned, I was there from 10am Sept. 11th to 6 pm Sept. 12th. No bombs went off in those building...lots of fire but no bombs.

This is what happened on Sept. 11, 2001, 19 Muslims hijacked 4 planes and attacked America. Saudis royals or Pakistan officials (maybe both) had some hand in plot (cash or otherwise). The so called confession tapes are NO prove because we do not know what has been said prior to the so called evidence on the tape, everything before that was audible so the context of the words could have been "the people who had done this has told me that ....."

To those who believe the US Government would not initiate an attack on its own soil against its own countrymen, I refer you to reflect on Pearl Harbor and the events leading up to it. I am not saying for sure that the USG was flying the planes into the WTC - because frankly we just don't know for sure (I did hear somewhere that some of the accused hijackers were turning up alive... I'll have to try to find that again).

Anyway, back to my point, the USG instigated Japan into attacking through a series of politcal moves that included cutting off Japan's oil and steel supplies, and sending troops to fight with China against Japan. Japan had no choice but to attack at Pearl Harbor (read the story of the Admiral - initially dishonorably discharged, but later reinstated after a court wnet over the records) [for a great resource see Richard Maybury's 'Uncle Eric' book on World War II].

As far as the Afghanistan link goes, the USG started bombing them in 1998, why wouldn't they feel like they had to retaliate in some way? Also, of note, the USG was planning to start bombing Afghanistan again at the end of Sep. 2001 - [Federal Register/Vol. 66 No. 89/Tuesday, May 8, 2001/Notices] Again, I don't know for sure (as I am still researching) if the planes were in fact hijacked or if the hijackers were from Afghanistan, but that is the official story and at this time this seems to coincide well with that and has historical precednt in this country.

It is known as a "false flag" operation. You disguise your own soldiers or mercenaries or somebody to attack your own people so that can take actions you had planned in advance. The Romans used this with great success for a very, very long time. Machiavelli writes about it in "The Prince". It is, quite literally, the oldest trick in the book. Where do you think the saying "Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer" comes from. First, guarantee that you have the force to completely overwhelm any enemy. Second, keep that enemy so close that anyone would mistake them for your friend. Then, mistreat your "friend". Because you are so close you will read him like a book and know when and how he plans to attack you. Now plan your response so you can get the most benefit from it.

The United States government has misled the American public into almost every major conflict. Germany told us frankly to stop using commercial ships to transport arms to England or they would sink one. We ignored them, continued to ship arms in commercial liners, and then reacted with outrage when the Lusitania was sunk. In Vietnam the Navy reported that North Vietnamese gunboats were firing on destroyers in international waters. Johnson used this to escalate our involvement in the war. This event, which occurred at the Gulf of Tonkin, is now widely accepted as exaggerated or worse than that; completely false. If you do not believe that our government would engage in a "false flag" operation against their own civilian population then do a Google search on Operation Northwoods. Before JFK was assassinated the joint chiefs were itching for a fight with Cuba. They drew up plans to fake attacks on US airliners and ships that would be blamed on Cuba and used as a reason to invade. Kennedy refused.

People fall into three groups; (1) those prone to simply believe conspiracy theories, (2) those who can only accept findings based on facts, and (3) those with Cognitive Dissonance who cannot interpret new information into a paradigm they have already accepted in full. People in category (1) are of no use in this debate as most of them are holding deeds to the Brooklyn Bridge. I'm a (2). It began for me when I saw the second plane hit the South Tower; not on TV, not on the web, but rather on 9-11 from my office window.

Two things convinced me of complicity somewhere in our own government.

1) On average NORAD intercepts over 60 flights per year after the FAA informs them that it is either off course, the transponder is not responding, or they have lost radio contact. Remember that between New York and Washington DC is the most protected air corridor on the planet. So how is it possible that 4 hijacked planes could roam these skies un-challenged for over an hour? Even after each of those planes had struck the towers there was no combat air patrol flying over our capital. 45 minutes after the second plane hit the South Tower is when the Pentagon was hit. Again, why was there no air combat patrol? This is standard operating procedure for the FAA & NORAD; the rules are already on the books. No involvement from the executive branch is needed. But on this day the rules were not followed. Why?

2) Look at pictures of the Pentagon before the outer wall collapsed. The point of impact is a hole approximately fifteen feet across. There is absolutely no plan wreckage visible on the lawn of the Pentagon. Where did the wings go? Where did the engines go? Where is the tail section? Remember, the only visible damage to the Pentagon before it collapsed was the 15 foot hole. The tail of a 700 series plane alone stands over three stories high. Did it and the wings and the engines get sucked into the hole? And how is it possible that a plane weighing hundreds of tons and flying at over 400mph only makes a fifteen foot hole? In the photos you can even see un-broken windows one floor above the hole. Is that possible? If you look at the security camera video you won’t see a 700 series plane. More over, how is a man who flunked flight school able to bring this plane down on this target flying with 10 feet for the ground but never hitting it?

Yes, several of the supposed hijackers have turned up alive and well. Most had their passports stolen or lost while traveling and believe their identities were stolen. Strange, the 9-11 Commission never followed up on this. But it did makes news in Europe; check the BBC web site. Over 50% of Europe believes 9-11 was in inside job. During a radio interview the following week the German Defense Minister said exactly that.

My experience as a naval damage control officer tells me that foam should have been used on this fire. Regarding video of alleged terrorists boarding Flight 77, how do you know it was "them"? Because government spokespersons said so, and the media quoted them? By the way, it was alleged to be Hani Hanjour and another of the alleged Flight 77 hijackers, not Atta.

Actually the people shown in the video were going through security, not turning in their tickets at the ticket counter. Given that, *how did anyone figure out which snippet of all the security video they were in*? You can make guesses about facial identification technology, but shouldn't the news reports have at least *asked* that question? No, because most media people don't even seem to think for themselves, much less assume that anyone watching the report will do so.

Also, why did it take this long to get this information? If it was worth the trouble to get these videos, why did it take three years? Could it have had anything to do with the success of the 9/11 Truth movement?

The end of the report I saw showed an animation of Flight 77 diving down into the Pentagon at way too steep an angle, and from the wrong direction. But who cares? It's just the TV news. Why should anyone assume anything they say about terrorism has anything to do with the truth?
