Today is January 20, 2005, a dark day in American history. There are 565 days until the estimated impeachment and removal of George W. Bush (for how this was calculated, read after the jump.) This is another in a daily series chronicling the high crimes and misdemeanors of the Bush administration.
Today's high crime: Too depressed to come up with one -- going across the street to Westy's to gird myself for Bush II. See everybody tomorrow.
How the countdown is calculated: Bush's expected removal is based on the date that Richard Nixon was forced from office: Aug. 8, 1974, the 565th day of his second term. It is only an estimate -- Bush could in fact be removed from office earlier than Aug. 8, 2006.
Why don't you just give it a rest. In your blog, you sound like an unhappy man. I don't like people to be unhappy - even my political opponents.
You've got two, I presume in your eyes, wonderful children. You castigate Bush for supposedly torturing our enemies, and here you are torturing yourself much worse.
Why don't you bundle them up in a lot of clothes, bring them down to Ocean City and take them for for a long walk on the boardwalk? Stop and enjoy a pizza with them. Take them through the Christmas store. Go out and enjoy life with your the important stuff - your family.

But what is, is. One has to face reality and move on. I'm recommending Bush opponents look for ways to add joy to their lives.
Those with families should recognized the gift God has given them, be grateful for that gift and celebrate it. Forget Bush and politics for a while. Get some physical activity, that too can help change one's mood.

Why would you assume because someone opposes Bush vigorously and expresses dismay at the utter disaster that his presidency has been, that they are personally unhappy? I have two wonderful children who bring me pleasure every day. I can't wait to take them sledding in all the beautiful snow we're going to get tomorrow. I love my work, yada yada yada. I also agree with pretty much everything Will ever writes here. Stop assuming! You know the old saw about that!

I concluded WB was not a happy man as I read the tone of his posts as who is in some emotional pain. But then I'm a geek and not a literati as WB is. So I may be seeing tone and inflections that aren't there.
