I didn't want to link directly because I have a good track record with my readers of not steering them to anything with dirty pictures. I think John did a great reporting job and -- in the proper context -- his information is a newsworthy, but I linked to Wonkette as an intermediate to give readers time to decide if they really want to see smutty pictures. I like to think I have some readers in the workplace and God knows there are places that would fire you for what he's got up.

Given Gannon's connection to the Plame outing (according to Joe Wilson, Gannon apparently knew she was a CIA agent well before Novak outed her) and the preponderance of evidence indicating he's a prostitute, a common criminal, with access to the president, I am rendered speechless that more has not been made of this.
Forget the gay sex, the man may well be a criminal, and he was allowed near the President? Privy to top secret information?

Thanks Guys. OK sports fans here's what we've got so far. In the first half we had on-line journalist James Guckert asking a question of President Bush with an obvious conservative slant. Making him the anti-Helen Thomas. For this the opposing team has outed him as a homosexual--not that there's anything wrong with that--and that he may, or may not, have been an "escort" and that...well that's about all.

In the second half we expect the left fielders to come out "swinging." We may see new information concerning Mr. Guckert and a staff member perhaps. But I really don't think the fans are enjoyng this game of gay-baiting and the tactics could change to security concerns, which could have first amendment ramifications the left may not want to get into.

First of all, Helen Thomas, whether you agree with her politics or not, is a *real journalist*. She went to a *real journalism school* and has years and years of experience working as a journalist, and has the awards to prove it, awards she earned.
"Jeff Gannon" is not a real reporter, has NO experience, and doesn't work for a real news agency. He has as much business in the white house press room as you or me (by the white house's own guidelines).
Second, the discovery that he was gay is only a secondary to the discovery that he was a fraud. I mean, it's funny to throw in the face of the faux morals crowd that backs Bush, but really his sexuality has nothing to do with anything. However, his being a prostitute or running a prostitution ring does (don't give me this "escort" euphemism, the man was posting pictures of himself stroking his junk and advertising his services as a "top" for $200/hour). "That's about all"? Prostitution/ running prostitution rings are ILLEGAL. In this time of heightened national security, how is a gay prostitute using a fake name allowed get into the white house again and again, especially the Bush White House?
Third, I disagree that "the left" is worried "the tactics could change to security concerns". As a matter of fact, most of the people pushing the story are less concerned about the sex than they are that Gannon is linked to the exposure of CIA agent Valerie Plame, which has been a federal crime since Bush 1's term. You wanna talk about the implications of passing top secret information to fake journalists as it relates to national security? I'm not so sure that's a question the RIGHT wants to discuss (although conservative voice has expressed some outrage).
The question is: how does a man with no journalistic credentials, a criminal background, and an alias, repeatedly get into the white hosue press corps?
Frankly, the Gannon incident is an affront to anyone who believes in a free and honest press, and that goes for liberals as well as conservative.
The only people who don't find something dreadfully wrong with the Gannon incident are people who are so partisan they have put on intellectual blinders and abandoned their common sense.
