More books for free

THERESA: Wasn't Saturday a great day to get out and enjoy some exercise? I ran the Kelly Drive/West River Drive loop with my family. I was very slow, but glad to do that distance (8.4 miles), with the Broad Street Run now just three weeks away! My plan is to run the loop the next two Saturdays and run at least two or three times a week during my work week as well. (How is everyone else doing with the Broad Street training?)

On another note, Good Friday wasn't a real heavy traffic day on this website, so I'm extending last week's book giveaway 'til we get rid of some of this great, free stuff. Today, tell us about anyone who inspires you to keep fit, and I'll send you your choice of the following (first come, first served):

"Chi Running, A Reolutionary Approach to Effortless, Injury-Free Running," by Danny Dreyer with Katherine Dreyer, Rescuing the Emotional Lives of Overweight Children," by Dr. Sylvia Rimm, "The Stress Effect; Discover the Connection Between Stress and Disease and Reclaim Your Health," by Richard Weinstein, "The 7-Day Low-Carb Rescue and Recovery Plan," by Rachael and Richard Heller, "The Starch Blocker Diet," by Steve Rosenblatt and Cameron Stauth.

We also have a three-part DVD set "Keeping Fit in Your 50s, Workout Essentials for a Changing Body."

People who inspire me to stay fit are: Janet Jackson, Demi Moore and Madonna. They look great for their ages!!!!

I would love to have the Chi Running book if it is available!

Thanks!

I would have to nominate by friend Belinda Kopp as she has motivated me to join Weight Watchers and get myself healthly. She is always upbeat and never fails to give me an encouraging word.

If still available I would like the "Keeping Fit in Your 50s, Workout Essentials for a Changing Body" set.

Thank you,

Debbie

Great. I'll get those sent off to you right away. Also, I'm sending "The Stress Effect" to Susan, who posted a comment Friday about her aunt, 72, who goes to a local indoor mall and walks everyday. (She posted that in our "Exercise your Brain" discussion.) The rest of you out there-- everything else is still available!

I have two people who inspire me: my 12-year-old daughter, because I want to keep up with her, and my co-worker Marge, who is the office "fitness cop." She got us involved in Weight Watchers at Work programs, circulates articles about diet and exercise, and even makes and shares healthy foods and snacks. She doesn't let us quit or backslide, either.

Inspiration for me doesn't come from someone, but something - my Runner's World magazine. I keep it on my alarm clock so I can't hit the snooze button instead of running before work.

My friend Betsy inspires me! Betsy, working mother of 2, gets up really early every morning without fail to run at least 5 miles. I would like Keeping Fit in your 50s. Thanks!

I'm inspired to keep fit by my 39 year-old aunt who looks 29. She line dances and just about anything else. I love to work out w/ her because she is just a naturally perky person! Keeps me motivated. I'd love the Chi Running or Starch Blocker Diet book.

Am I too late for "The 7-Day Low-Carb Rescue and Recovery Plan," by Rachael and Richard Heller? Bad health situation, 5 ruptured discs, fibromyalgia, narrowing of the spinal foramina, AND, asthma, then I fell, don't even ask . . .weight gain lying in bed here for 2 one half years. I love bread, and beer, but cannot eat them of I just puff puff puffa up. Thinking I could use this book if it's still there. Thanks. Blessings to you all. CCW
