THERESA: Hurricane Jeanne caused such tumult on the Schuykill that the Philadelphia Dragon Boat Festival, scheduled for Oct. 2, had to be postponed. It will be this Saturday. This is bad news for our company team, since many of us (including yours truly) won't be around this weekend. We lost about eight people from our team. But the race must go on.
Yvonne W., Wendy, April and Jill will still be on the team, along with some new recruits. Many of the more than 100 teams scheduled to race have had to regroup because of the postponement, but the event still promises to be a lot of fun. Anyone else have Dragon Boat tales to share?
YVONNE W: I was discouraged by the loss of so many of my valued fellow Paper Mates. But now I'm psyched again. The new recruits seem to be eager to get started. They have energized me. If nothing else, I know it will be great fun.

I have loved this experience, and like anything else that's worth it, it is taking some effort. But it is so worth it. Out on the boat, we are a team pulling together, and it is such a rush. Rowing is something I think I could get into!
