Cicadas are coming! Cicadas are coming!
So what's the big deal?
Well, be aware that if you eat them, they could kill you.
An Indiana man who ate about 30 sauteed cicadas suffered
a strong allergic reaction.

His recipe:

30 cicadas
1 large slice butter
1 clove garlic
1 teaspoon basil

Put all ingredients in a frying pan and saute for a few minutes, until the dish smells like a garbage can. Serve hot. Serves 1.

The doctor who treated him said the man reported that "they didn't taste too bad, but his wife didn't care for the aroma."
Then the guy was overwhelmed by hives, much like the eastern
part of the country is being overwhelmed by the dread
cicadas.
