SPP Tours of the Schuykill Printing Plant on River Road in Conshohocken show how a newspaper is printed. The tour runs one hour and includes a walk-through and explanation of the plate making, newsprint handling facilities, a look over a balcony into the mailroom, and the pressroom where 11 million pages of newsprint are produced each week. Open to students 7 years old and up, and adults. The tours can be arranged by calling Lillie Wilson at 610-292-6016. The plant schedules one tour per day from 10:00 a.m., Monday through Friday. Groups are limited to 30.
